Striped Summer

Well I wore a striped summer dress out today, it started off so well
Til it rained and I was cold...hmmmm tomorrow it's back to the black tights.

Or maybe I just need some Sonia Rykiel stripes...

Sonia Sketches

Anyone in Paris this month should pop down to Galerie Catherine Houard gallery where, until 24th July, over 200 of Sonia Rykiel's sketches are on display,
I love the naive nature of each drawing and the character that she creates sometimes with just a few squiggles.

Today I have been mostly...

They are probably all old news, but sometimes I like to share new blogs I am checking out that week with a good friend of mine and I figured if anyone would be interested it might be someone who is already reading a blog.... so this week I have been mostly reading and discovering

  • jjjjound - a bit like my favourite Haw-Lin in that it is a selection of random photos that spark ideas and inspiration they say; The blog posts will have no titles. The photos will be random. No text either. Just great photos. (BTW, this is going to be your favorite blog)
- she loves Paris, Sonia Rykiel, Louis Vuitton and Macaroons...what's not to love

and through Paris Breakfasts I stumbled across Sonia Rykiel's very own blog...

What are your favourite blogs at the moment?

It's how they wear it..

photos: my own
Just next to my hotel in Paris is a small clothes shop with an interesting idea for displaying their clothes.
Haven't actually been into the shop yet but surely if it's good enough for Marc, Alber and Sonia then they must have something good?! hmmmmm...

I think the illustrations are quite amusing though.

Sonia

I actually started writing this last night but for some reason it wouldn't upload...

Just got back to my hotel room after the Sonia Rykiel show. It was so amazing, the models were all full of energy (rumours that a few glasses of champagne helped) and everything was so beautiful and glamourous.
It was held in the shop and the excitement started outside as lights flashed imitating paparazzi from inside the store. Crowds gathered to watch through the windows.
Inside the shop had been transformed into a disco, with mirror balls hanging from the ceiling and silver oversized sequins scattered all over the floor. When the music started (with Anita Wards' 70's classic Ring my Bell) the models emerged down the stairs to literally dance and whoop around the shop in which the audience were spread.

I bought myself a new camera yesterday, after my Sony died, thinking that this would make me a photographer. Sadly not, it seems the main problem is me, but I've done my best and all the looks will be on Vogue/Style soon so make sure you look through them all properly somewhere else.

In other news I finally dyed my hair red, and after my boss kindly lent me her Marc Jacobs coat and a pair of Marni shoes when I didn't have time to run back to my hotel before the Rykiel show I tried to take blogger style photos of myself. But I've decided that really you don't need to see me, so just take my word for it that ginger is the way forward...my celeb spots of this evening were indeed the ginger one from Girls Aloud (Nicola). Also spotted George lamb of Big Brother's Little Brother fame at Cafe De Flore.

Sorry if this is all complete rambling - I've been up since 6.30am to get the Eurostar and I'm pooped!
