New Girl Crush

vogue.co.uk

I went to the launch of Marc Jacobs' new men's fragrance at Harvey Nichols on Thursday night...more on that later. However I have a new girl crush, who I saw there wearing the new Marc Jacobs skirt from the campaign photo (look 20 if you are being specific).
Had no idea who she was until I came across her the next day on the Vogue.com roundup of the night.

Florrie Arnold is a drummer/singer/model and the new face of Nina Ricci's perfume Nina L'Elixir.
I think she is definitely one to watch out for...

Looking forward

Tried to find the rest of this campaign but no luck
This was by far one of my favourite A/W 2010 collections

Once again...

...my posting has been lacking this week. I've been away working in Florence and so I have very limited access to the internet. Back in Paris now til the weekend so have reconciled with my laptop. July is a bit of a crazy month as I have the whole of August off work (WOOHOOOO...it's like school holidays!) but this means that I am away a lot working until then. I am going to make more of an effort though and will get back into the regular updates very soon.
I'm not really sure who Gerald Decock is (a hairdresser and visual artist according to The Selby) but his house is incredible. On the one hand I would want to explore it for hours but I think that it might become all too much to stay too long.
Love his inspiration wall which he says helps him reflect on his magic life

Sellophane Genius...

...and by that I am referring to the wonderful Stephen Jones who created these for the recent Fall 2010 Dior Couture show.
I'm not usually such a huge fan of Galliano but there is something quite Lacroix-esque about this collection, which is delightful after the sad loss of the Lacroix couture house earlier this year.
Jones' hats are like a cross between the top of a Christmas tree and your favourite Quality Street chocolate.
Not sure they'll make it onto the highstreet so I'm off to a florist to explore the DIY option.

Love this photo of Picasso and his daughter Paloma
If anyone is in London over the next few weeks, you should check out the new Picasso exhibtion at the Gagosian Gallery, Brittania Street, W1 (near Kings Cross)
Free entry and the best collection of Picasso I have ever seen in one place.

On until August 28th

Bob Abbey

style.com

I have never been a huge Abbey Lee fan (controversial maybe, I know she is a favourite of many) but I am loving her not-so-new bob on the Chanel Couture catwalk yesterday.
Plus does anyone know which shade of lipstick they used in the show? I want!

Why Don't They Let Us Fall in Love

lulamag.co.uk

Reading about the Lula/Harvey Nichols collaboration lead me back to the Lula mag website.
Not sure when they updated it but they now have 4 videos from the making of their birthday issue out earlier this year - including a closer look at the Strawberry Shortcake themed covers.

LULA

Now you can shop at Lula...

Harvey Nichols have teamed up with Lula magazine to launch a pop up shop.. Is this not the best idea ever? To celebrate Lula's 5th birthday they have created a boutique on the 4th floor of the fashion mecca with exclusive designs by some of my favourites - Erdem, Miu Miu, and Sonia Rykiel.Chanel has also created something special for all those who make a purchase (any one know what this is?!)
The project was curated by Lula editor Leith Clark and set designer Fiona Leahy.
It looks so cute, I want Lula wallpaper!

The collaboration was launched last week at an exclusive dinner
with guests including Leith Clark, Erdem and Clemence Poesy. 'Girl of the moment' Coco Sumner provided some musical entertainment.
