Lula 'Leven

Lula Issue 11 has finally hit the newstands...go go go!
The treasure hunt is on!!

My boss surprised me with an issue a couple of days ago and she found it opposite Liberty in London by the Palladium theatre if that is of any help to people looking. I also think it is in Selfridges too.

Issue 11 it would seem is a Rodarte issue
Laura Mulleavy finds a new day job interviewing Vivienne Westwood and Agnes Varda, she also teams up with her sister to style Lula favourite Kirsten Dunst, and they look at the world of ballet and Natalie Portman's new film Black Swan.

My scanner isn't working properly at the moment but I'll try put some more pictures up soon. Below are some photos of the Natalie Portman/Ballet article (sorry for the rubbish quality!)

I'm going to try grab some more copies if I see them so if you are having trouble finding an issue let me know and I'll try find one for you!

Porte de Vanves

photos my own

The only way to spend a Saturday morning in Paris is to head down to Vanves.
It's impossible not to find something to buy (even if you only have a few euros).
There really is everything here - from old stamps to window shutters, shop signs to old socks, vintage designer clothes and street lamps.

One of my favourite places in the world!

Missing Summer

As much as I love layering, I am missing being able to throw on a few garments and trotting out the house.
We haven't had snow here yet but that will just cause more trouble when it hits next week (as all weather reports are telling me will happen)...which shoes are suitable for snow that you can actually wear in a normal social/work situation?!!

P P P P P

Last week I received a gift of true greatness...

I don't have my ears pierced (was always too wimpy...yes really!) and now I'm not too bothered as I don't often find earrings I would wear anyway (yes maybe if I had my ears pierced I would feel differently), but who needs pierced ears when Prada are making these things of beauty with ever so comfortable clips.

J'adore!

Remember Me??

ermm...sorry, I think this is the longest I've ever left my blog without a new post. I'm not even sure how the time passed by so quickly, but I'm back, won't be travelling so much now til after Christmas and have lots to share...

At Bon Marche in Paris they have a small photographic exhibition showing Sofia Coppola and behind the scenes of her new film Somewhere with Stephen Dorff and (Dakota's little sis) Elle Fanning.

one of my fave pics ever

Love Sofia Coppola, she epitomises effortless beauty

By Jorge it's Bjork

One of my many magazine purchases this week was the new Another magazine.
This isn't a mag I usually by but I loved the cover with Bjork.
She looks like she hasn't aged a day since the days of shhh...(though I'm sure photoshop has helped a little with this) but you definitely wouldn't think she was in her mid 40s!

Looking good dear Watson

Absolutely loving the vintage dress and Charlotte Olympia shoes.
In fact I think I'm even loving her hair!
And I was all set to explain how much I wasn't getting her pixie crop, but Emma looks grown up, sophisticated and fabulously stylish.
Hats off to the wizard!

Did anyone go see it?

Karen Nicol

Karen Nicol is a good friend of mine's mum.
Their home and her studio is an amazing array of art, embroidery and inspiration.
Without knowing I came across a recent interview she did about her work.
See it here
I LOVE their coat hanger staircase!

Karen has done embroidery for many designers, including Clements Ribeiro, Chloe, John Rochas, Marcus Lupfer.... as well as window displays and her own work.
She recently had an exhibition at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery in London of incredible embroidered animals.

Karen's husband, Peter Clark, is also an artist and I love his dog collages...

British Vogue December 2010

I Love Shona Heath! Her work with Tim Walker has resulted in some of my favourite editorials ever.
So imagine my delight when I found she had done a 12 page spread in the new British Vogue, with Siri Tollerod modelling!
I do not really have a wide knowledge on set designers, but I always know a Shona Heath editorial as soon as I see it. I love her signature dreamy style.
I would love to spend just a day in Shona's studio watching her work and come up with beautiful ideas that transport you to another world.
